A good idea is to take a step back and look at your current lifestyle in order to find out what changes you can make that can help stop acne before it starts. Finding the causes can mean the quickest routes to prevention.

An Apple a Day Keeps the Dermatologist Away
While the myth that chocolate, pizza, chips, and other greasy foods cause acne has been thoroughly debunked, they don't exactly help the condition either. How often do you eat healthy foods, such as fruits and vegetables, good meats and dairy products? You don't have to eat like a rabbit; salads and water every day, but it doesn't hurt to give your skin more protein and vitamin C either. Not only will it help ease your acne, but your skin will thank you for the extra boost.

Find a Zen Spot
Stress aggravates just about everything in our lives. In short bursts, it can be helpful, but too much of it will only make hormone balances hiccup, leading to overproduction of oil on the face and potentially bothered skin. People who have skin conditions such as psoriasis often find their condition worsened due to stress. Acne has been found to be no different. If you tend to stress a lot, that could very well be a cause. Find a place each day, at a specific time (before bed, before work, you decide) to relax and ease your nerves. The stress can melt away, and so will the potential acne outbreak.

When girls and boys go through puberty, they tend to have acne outbreaks.
