Amazingly Effective Acne Treatments that Really Work
Written by: Judith Hanks
Stop Acne in Its Tracks
Acne is annoying, and everyone knows it. It becomes even more annoying when it refuses to go away, or simply appears for an unknown reason. But just because you have acne now doesn't mean you can't figure out a few ways to keep it from appearing later on. Many medications and facial treatments have appeared on the market, but some may still be a bit too expensive. If that is the case, then take a few acne treatments that work for keeping your face clean and clear.
Wash and Rinse
If you haven't been washing your face on a regular schedule, now is the time to start. You need to remember it is important to go easy on your skin. Acne can cause it to become easily irritated, so being careful to baby your skin will get you better results. Use a cleanser that helps get excess oil and makeup off of your skin. Follow up with a scrub to help exfoliate your pores and slough off any extra dead skin, which can mix with oil and clog pores. Again, don't scrub too hard; irritating your skin too much may cause more oil to be produced, which will only lead to more acne.
Treat Your Skin Right
Follow up with an acne medication if you currently have a breakout. Some medications come with a whole product line that will include cleansers and moisturizers. If you use your own moisturizer separate from a medication, be sure that it is oil free and water based. Even if you have oily skin, this may not always mean that your skin is moisturized. Use a modest amount. The moisturizer will help ease skin irritation and dryness. As long as your moisturizer doesn't clog your pores (and there are many out there that are formulized to avoid doing so), your skin can be soft and happy without breakout worries.
Repeat and Keep Healthy
Always be sure to use a regular skin care regime to help best prevent acne. You can use a few other acne treatments that work as well; stay fit through exercise, eat healthy, and avoid constantly touching your face! You might be surprised at how effective some lifestyle changes can be toward your acne. Avoiding stress can also be a huge help to defeating acne, as stress will only aggravate your sebaceous glands (the oil producing glands in your skin) and create more oil and lead to more acne. Focus on staying healthy and let your skin do its thing. With a little persistence and patience, you'll be able to kick acne to the curb.
